What's the best way to clean a flat iron?

When i flat iron my hair i use a lot of hairspray & the stuff that protects your hair from heat damage, so it gets all over my flat iron & i don’t know how to clean it..
i can clean it by sitting there for an hour & rubbing it with a damp cloth.. but really, that takes forever! =/
Does anyone know a better way??

i used rubbing alcohol and that worked pretty good. And then I heard about using baking soda and that worked even better. You can mix the baking soda with a little bit of water to get into a paste and then rub it on the flat iron.

    Good Luck:))

I use Clorox(sp?) Wipes, they work really well because they’re meant for cleaning hard surfaces. You can find them at Wal Mart or Target.

You could try a soft toothbrush and soap. Just make sure it is completely dry before you turn it back on.
